I wonder if/how AI personal agents would be able to help in this regard, trained to spot when attention is being manipulated in a certain way and inform you of that. Like the sunk cost fallacy, which is also in that list, it can offer

Gambling isn't a noble skill game. It's about winning and it involves cheating if you have the chance and if the way online systems are setup allow for this, it's their problem. They are probably doing rigged deals and/o

Browsers should just bundle all the advanced but privacy concerning APIs into a single App permissions dialog that you get on the domain you visit and that's it. That should include everything JS except simple DOM manipulations, so you

There is no particular reason, that part is certainly cultural. There aren't even seven, they are twelve equal slices, called semitones. There are infinite slices an octave can be divided into, we just picked one kind of division compl

This is nice! I like the graphs and the general feeling, and the utility is important as well. One minor UX tweak: remove the tile description text ellipsis and nowrap and just let it flow and wrap. Makes browsing the main page much better,

You are missing the opportunity. When you are not used to alternate models and when something like this doesn't fit any of your current ones, it is frustrating - but at the same time it forces you to re-evaluate those models and for a

I think it has potential, as you explain, it's pretty young at the moment. There is certainly some value in a friend-2-friend credit network and the technology looks good, a lot work has been done judging from the repo! I can't he

Exactly, nothing is stopping few individuals from becoming mafia. Eventually a secondary system needs to be established to regulate those guys at gunpoint, then voila, you've got current society.

This looked initially like a cool idea, then I realized that to trade with someone you have to have a mutual credit line with them, or through someone who already has a credit line. How is this any different than the current model, where th

The approach has a name, it's called "radical honesty". The idea is this: we are often surprised as to how things turn up, yet at the same time, we are not fully engaged with the world around us, we hold back. The inner world
