This reminds me of a story about the philosopher Wittgenstein missing the train and deciding to buy a train for himself instead. Googling the story does not turn up many results. Does anyone know if this is in fact true?

What's cool about KaTeX is that you can integrate it nicely with static website generators so that you can skip the latex parsing on the client side; the client only has to load a font and some CSS, no JS required. I've used that

It's a gamble when you're on a Facebook product website, and you have whitelist certain scripts for the page to render. On other sites I can just block everything that has to do with Facebook.

TL;DR: yes. Are there candidate examples of ideas in philosophy, natural sciences or maths that are so original that only a single mind could think of them?

I repeated the experiment with 200 000 lines of code, where each line contains an assigment (just a constant) followed by a print statement (printf / std::cout). Results on my Macbook Air are similar: $ time g++ cpp.cpp real

For example: you measure concentrations of `p` gases at `n` different places. You collect the results in a matrix A where A_ij is the concentration (a value between 0 and 1) of gas `i` at station `j`. Now you factorize A ≈ B * C in the sens

Well... the nonnegative matrix factorization builds a basis for the column space where all entries of the basis vectors are positive. This might be meaningful if the entries are thought of as some positive quantity like weight or energy. In

Ah, great! I can confirm z.lua feels really snappy compared to autojumper after disabling the git related stuff! :) So now I should find a way to make the git prompt faster.

I tried it and it seems indeed faster than autojumper on my Macbook Air with bash. However, visually I don't see any difference, probably because other tools run on cd'ing to the next folder (probably git). Also when I do `z doc`
