Men do the same thing. That’s literally why the swipe style of dating apps was created; to quickly judge if you are interested or not mainly in appearance. That’s why the OPs first point was about good photos and presentation.

It depends on how your projects/team is funded. I’ve been on teams where a shutdown had a pretty immediate impact (people had to be shuffled around to other projects in the short term). I’ve also been on teams that get all their fundin

East of Eden was one of like 3 Steinbeck books I havent read. I finally got around to it this summer and it’s probably one of my favorite books now.

I am very aware of that. I think you’re not familiar with a King as a person or an author based on your comment. Finally, you thinking Musk was mocking is also wrong. He was using Kings viral tweet as a jump off point for the tweet this HN

Of course it offers him value, but Stephen King being on the platform is more valuable to Twitter than it is for King.

I can’t speak for the EU, but the USA passed a bill earlier this year directing almost 300 billion towards growing chip production in the USA.

I’ve never encountered someone who is pro-abortion that believes a late stage abortion is “business as usual”. It’s usually considered a tragedy because rarely does a mother get that late in a pregnancy and want an abortion. They get them b

I am not saying this to be pedantic, but people will 100% complain about solar arrays in parking lots. Green energy is a politicized and having solar parking lots will be used as a political talking point. It already happens with electric c

I would be interested in actual data on if this is an increasing trend or not. When I was in college (graduated in 2015) most of my friends still had a job; be it to pay for school or to fund their weekend drinking activities.

"Why did two military thriller TV series succeed when two fantasy TV series (one of which isn't even out yet) did not?". Seems like a lot of competing factors here chief!

Oh I do. I've gone to a number of games for every major team in my city (Chicago). I always have a good time. Some of that is because of the game, but I don't think it's surprising to say the people and environment are what m

This is just an anecdote, but one of my favorite parts about reading Devil In The White City was the social aspect the World's Fair had on Chicago. The people of Chicago were very personally invested in winning the bid and making it a

I honestly wish I gave a shit about sports, because I feel like it's possibly one of the most unifying things amongst males imo. Growing up I always felt like I was playing on a slightly harder difficulty when it came to making friends

Yup, it sucks. For me it isn't even so much the song as it is how it transports me back to that job. Like, I hear the song and can picture myself doing certain tasks in the retail store I worked at while listening to it.

Are there any publications that have tried to recreate the experience of buying a physical paper? Like pay a one time fee of $2-3 dollars and get access to all of the news from this past week? Or maybe get an additional 10 articles?

As a whole, you are absolutely correct. But 99% of your daily interactions with Git come down to a handful of commands. Hell, print out a cheat sheet and tape it to your desk for the first few months of using it and you will be more than fi
