I'm surprised we haven't seen more "real" attacks from these sorts of things, maybe it's just bc not very many people are actually running these types of MCPs (fortunately) in production. Wrote about a similar supab

This isn't necessarily a new thing but thought it was cool that the new image model can do some of these just with prompting. - "Generate a depth map image" + https://depthy.stamina.pl/#/ - "generat

I could see some cases were the tools are user data specific. You upload some csv and now there are some tools customized for slicing and manipulating that data. It's totally possible to build tools in way that everything is static but

Totally agree, hopefully it's clear closer to the end that I don't actually expect MCP to solve and be responsible for a lot of this. More so MCP creates a lot of surface area for these issues that app developers and users should

It's a common question! Related: > Tool-Calling - If you’re like me, when you first saw MCP you were wondering “isn’t that just tool-calling?”... Not everyone uses langchain nor does langchain cover some of the lower level aspects o

I think recommendation != being enforceably part of it or being implemented. There are a lot of great recs in the docs but I wrote this based on what I actually saw in the wild. I definitely don't think it's all on the spec to sol

I haven't read a good justification from them on this but it did seem reasonable to me that if the protocol allows auth to be added on top then it's less critical to be in the spec v1 itself. It's not no security vs security

Not that I agree with all the linked points but it is weird to me that LeCun consistently states LLMs are not the right path yet LLMs are still the main flagship model they are shipping. Although maybe he's using an odd definition for

It can be either but typically it's "learned" without a defined mapping (which guessing is the case here). Although some experts may end up heavily correlating with certain domains.

Hi all I wrote a deep dive into how AI-powered IDEs like Cursor actually work under the hood. I wanted to share the technical details of how these tools function and how to optimize your codebase to work better with them. The post covers: -
