You're completely right. My original comment wasn't really fair to the Nest alarm device. It clearly does have it's benefits, but not enough for me to overcome the potential issues with the device. I don't think the cost

I suppose if you have a lot of remote controlled stuff in your house, the phone can act as the single control for all of it, eliminating the need for so many controls. Those smartphone-connected blinds bother me far less than using your pho

Maybe I'm becoming more of a luddite or cranky old-man, approaching my mid-30's, but I don't see any benefit at all to using the Nest smoke alarm. I'm replacing tried and true, simple, technologies, with a new device tha

Thanks for making this! One suggestion: Average funding could become distorted from big rounds, particular big later rounds. It might be helpful to include median funding and/or break out by seed, series a, etc.

That can be true, but if you're not getting a subsidized interest rate, the difference in interest you'll pay on a new car vs. a used car isn't big at all. Not enough to make up for depreciation. This is also a good tip -- if

Low interest rates on new cars are a smoke and mirrors game. If you weren't getting low interest rates, you'd be getting a better cash price. I bought a used car earlier this year and financed it at 3%. I'll pay around $1500

You also avoid some of the "people don't sell good cars" thing , because so many two year old cars are from people who just lease new cars every two years.

My experience is with Pressable, so sorry if I'm assuming WPEngine is the same, but I can knock these off easily by using Pressable: #2 - Default admin. I was given a secure admin password #4 - Backups #9 - Caching, and really that

A few of these issues could be completely avoided by using a hosted Wordpress service like Pressable or WPEngine. Both of these services offer hosting cheap enough where I don't even think about launching a Wordpress site anywhere else

The Cleveland food scene has had a pretty remarkable renaissance over the past few years. Downtown is growing as more people live there (occupancy rates upwards of 99% as apartments can't be converted fast enough to meet demand). We ha
