No. There are places that have non-fraternization clauses in employee contracts. Both parties can be fired if there is a relationship and it is not disclosed. In a larger organization (the one i am thinking of is a large bank) they will off

They don't compete with IB. IB is targeted at larger retail and small institutions. Their business models are similar when it comes to internalization but that is about it.

Sure it is. It was unlikely that they had real financial controls. I never would have trusted them with money, but thats just me. Everyone in finance knows if there is no custodian then well, you will not have your money for very long. The

They don't get the benefit of the doubt. Prosecuting HSBC and its officers would be a mammoth undertaking costing hundreds of millions or billions of dollars. The reason HSBC (or any other large organization) pleads guilty or enters in

The Tx costs of a trade will probably yield a rebate but they will need to move significant volume to generate enough revenue to cover their other costs. There would be no commission if they sold their flow. The only other way to make money

IB is very competitive. IB encourages volume so I believe our FIX gateway has a minimum of $100 in commissions. IB's pricing structure is very transparent in terms of pricing. You can also get rebates passed back to you.

Yes your experience is limited. Birth rates rise when children are an income producing asset. The shift from rural to urban populations dramatically lowers the birthrate since normally children are only an expense in a urban environment. Ho

If you stop chasing profits then there is no incentive to produce a quality product. The US public schools are a great example of that.

In fact the economic incentive is often to never really be done. I saw this first hand at a couple of government agencies.

Asset class correlations are more stable then stock correlations and thus can be used more reliably in portfolio construction. If you are not smart enough to pick a stock or asset classes then your money will whither away.

That is factually inaccurate. There are a wide variety of ETFs which have non-equity instruments as the underlying assets.

Even Carmack admitted that in retrospect the lack of radiosity contributed to the poor gameplay. He also lamented that most of the art was never seen because it was too dark.

Yes it does. Assuming you can pay for highly talented people who know how to build at scale distributed systems. There aren't enough of those to go around.

I don't see them as equivalent at all. DO serves a completely different market that doesn't need large deployments. I can't imagine trying to do some of what we do without not just EC2 but all the other APIs Amazon offers.
