Apple has an ad business. They are fooling users for years while claiming that they have the right to collect user data in a recent class action lawsuit. If you don't google because you think they might track you, apple is the reason.

Vlc media player instead of QuickTime player. It's hard to set defaults in Mac, you have to manually do for each extension. DaVinci resolve for video editing. QuickTime for recording.

It's only getting worse overtime. I have been advising devs to do more at code reviews. Every time a new package gets added or upgraded, that needs dual sign-off to justify it's use.
