There's a slight difference between being "not perfect" and having a torture camp and a president who says the US doesn't torture enough people (!). When the US preaches about human rights it devalues the concept. That m

Assuming a bitrate of 10Mbps and a solid 7 hours of sleep per night, you'd have to spend 43% of your waking hours watching TV to hit the cap.

Is 'diversity' selfish? Perhaps women/teenage girls aren't interested in becoming programmers, because they don't find it to be an interesting or fulfilling career.

Think you have that the wrong way around! Taking on more passengers than there are seats is not safe. If it's an isolated incident, then that's 3/10. If it's an actual policy of the airline then holy shit! 11/10

> You can obviously re-write a Python 2 program to be a Python 3 program, so both of those languages are Turing complete. This is true, but the converse isn't true. e.g. Python and brainfuck are both turing complete, but Python has

I think the point they were trying to make is that all JS is almost always used with a run loop. Whereas Ruby and Python are often used without a run loop.

A particular convention has been adopted by nearly all distros, the Python project and the Python community. That convention is better than Arch's, because it is backwards-compatible with the large body of Python 2 code that exists. Ar

There's a good reason to change back. There is now convention in place, and Arch's approach is obsolete.

You can't just redefine a word that a person has already defined (albeit implicitly), in order to make them wrong. That's not how being right on the internet works. If you want to be right on the internet, you have to define the w

That definition is circular. Of course research-level mathematics is done in academia, but there is a much larger field of applied mathematics that is done in industry.
