For a single rack, you really don’t have too many choices for power. You make a choice to provision and pay, I never had anyone check how much of that I used and give me money back. Maybe things have changed though.

I did have some MySQL servers racked for over a decade and I was afraid to restart the machines. And yes as new versions of MySQL came out I did have to compile them myself. Similar lower specced machines that were closer to the public inte

There are whole companies that de-anon ad data as a service. Which gives the lots of data brokers the ability to not do the last mile and feel good about themselves. It’s a joke.

I do wish they used the A19 Pro which has better hardware based memory security.

Yeah, the 3090 has faster memory, but not by a lot. The 5090 is at 1,792GB/sec and potential M5 Ultra would be 1,230GB/sec and 512GB RAM. Maybe 1TB. Not 32.

You are comparing a M5 Max to a base M4. The M4 Max has 546 GB/s compared to 614GB/s for the M5 Max. Which is like 12% faster not 4x.

Yeah, it’s like TVOS. One main account determines apps installed etc (WiFi settings, etc). Then local docs switches per user. Honestly that good enough for home use.

Correct. OS level stuff get first priority, so you can’t count on using it.

Don’t forget FaceID and many of the image manipulation. And while everyone else went to more powerful giant LLMs, Apple moved most of Siri from the cloud to your device. Though they do use both (which you can see when Siri corrects itself d

Same limitations as radar and ultrasonic and ladar and vision cameras combined? Even Tesla used to have radar and ultrasonic in their cars until relatively recently. And they use lidar (from Luminar) in their mapping fleet.

Why sell cars to everyone? People on here used to buy servers themselves (very few of us still do), most now rent via cloud. Why should transportation be different?

You don’t even need AI, just data brokers. And no warrant needed, only cash.

It’s not for that. It’s for things like the car drove into a protest area and people are surrounding the car. Or police blocked off an intersection and the car is stuck temporarily with people doing otherwise illegal u-turns or driving the
