My personal conspiracy theory is that they choose who to serve a degraded model to based on social graph analysis and sentiment analysis, maximizing for persuasion while minimizing compute.

This exchange is so funny. That much time around LLMs and no human feedback really seems to have broken that guy's brain.

Interesting - I just spent all day on this on an app which I'm using. My architecture is a little different (probably worse). The app lives on a single OpenBSD server. All user data is stored in /srv/app/[user]. Authenti

I'm glad you noticed this, I thought this was a wildly insane thing to do. Its like the satanic inversion of 9P protocol

Wouldn't there be a selection bias, as trucks in parking garages are much less likely to be doing hauling /towing tasks?

The Tacoma is the modern equivalent of the 90s Toyota, and while it is certainly bigger, it is not that much bigger. Also, there are a lot of boats, RVs and trailers which my 2019 Tacoma absolutely would not have towed successfully.

Hey, I was thinking about this same idea lately. What exactly would you want hosted by somebody? I was thinking about what if your "cloud" was more like a tilde.club, with self hosted web services plus a Linux login. What services

org-roam is a very small and stable codebase, worth reading on its own simply for education, but I also find that if you're interested in the internals, it's pretty accessible.

This looks great, with postgres support I could see myself using this regularly. What is the landscape for simple tools for writing to databases? We used to have Access and simple CRUD tools. I saw a demo of Steve Jobs demoing NextStep wh

The financial incentives of the Chatbots are always going to push people towards increased complexity, as well. The tendency will be for frameworks to become more complex, which will lead to increased LLM use, which will increase complexity
