Shouldn't it be illegal for a political party to force any MP vote on any matter? The MP was voted in to represent the people, not the political party. I guess it's a race to the bottom and impossible to prevent coercion. I just w

Agreed. I've watched the news this past week. We somehow went from A) allowing most illegal activities to B) completely disallowing any form of actual protest. (EDIT: according to rescripting, there are protests still happening in Otta

Thanks! I found some type providers docs [0] which is at some level an ML version of my Racket blog post. I had no idea type providers existed. The closest inspiration I had was probably Kotlin SQLDelight or Hibernate java codegen which (pr

The point about simple evaluation models, while true for basic Racket, is actually the furthest from the truth in idiomatic Racket. The idiomatic way to solve a problem in Racket is to develop new syntax (and evaluation orders) which are su

Although that makes sense, I actually just figured out what the other person meant. A perfect 5th is a 3/2 ratioof the base frequency (3rd harmonic). If you square that fraction you'll get 9/4, which is a 9/major 2nd.

Every part of what you said confuses me so much! How does 5+5=9? (Wrong I know but what is right?) Isn't the 9th harmonic a distinct frequency in a musical note? I thought it was side effect of how physical vibrations ripple out or som

It's not always just about simplicity of primes. Some intervals correspond to harmonics too. Major 2nd: 9th harmonic (9/8) Major 3rd: 5th harmonic (5/4) Perfect 4th: inverted 3rd harmonic (4/3) Perfect 5th: 3rd harmonic

There's a simple reason for 15/8 being the major 7th. It's the 15th harmonic. The 15th harmonic is not changing anytime soon!
