Haven't played with scsh before, but the thing that struck me as interesting while flipping through this was just how similar Microsoft's powershell is in terms of look-and-feel . I suspect it [scsh] may have been a source of inspiration :

Exactly. In .NET heap allocations are practically as fast as stack allocations, although of course there are other things you need to be aware of when using a compacting generational GC, such as avoiding medium-lived objects at all costs. .

"Cambridge" includes companies in the UK. But then again, most of the companies that come up for Boston are not actually in Boston. Need something like address:Boston, but they don't seem to have implemented that yet.

My instinct would be: don't bother. If the data you are protecting is worth enough to someone, they will decompile it anyway.

With the exception of stricter typing, these are problems of the new Flash runtime, not AS3 (even the ones labeled as AS3). As a language, AS3 is far superior to its predecessors, but because of its simultaneous release with the new runtime

It is a meaningful way to attack many of the current captchas, if the alphabet and the space of transformations applied to it is sufficiently small. It is being done right now, in fact.

I have a captcha idea: lets make users watch a 90-minute movie and summarize the plot in 6 words. Oh, and serve ads over it while they are watching, just to recover the bandwidth costs.
