You’re probably right, but I wonder if it won’t be quite so hard since there’s very little to crash into once you’re a few hundred feet up. I’m not talking about in big cities with skyscrapers of course. In theory, one day there could be qu

is this made by former 1Password employees? For some reason I get that vibe. Looks good, I didn’t read their privacy policy but the marketing looks solid.

I’m not a bitwarden user, does this mean users can’t access their secrets on their own machine if they are logged out? Because that’s not how 1Password works. I suspect that isn’t the case but it sounds like it to me

Wow, I did not expect such a thorough response, thank you. Yeah, I like that idea, I bet it looks amazing with that piece of oak.

That 3-monitor setup is exactly what I'm planning. I doubt I'll make much use of the side vertical monitors, but I have them so why not. After reading all the comments on this post I've realized I can build my own monitor mou

For some reason I'm having a really difficult time understanding your design. I've read it 4 times. I'm pretty sure my ability to visualize is poorer than average. Can you explain it in another way, or link a picture or sketc

This website has a lot of inspirational ideas, thanks! I especially like the cupholder idea. I'm always concerned I'll knock over my drink and ruin something

No I don't move much, but thank you for the warning. About 10 years ago I built a very simple desk that was easy to move because at the time I was moving a lot

Thank you for this! I was assuming I'd purchase monitor arms but reading your post made me realize, I don't have to, I can build something far studier :D

These are some great ideas! This is the kind of stuff I was looking for. I had a few standard ideas like integrated cord management, but thanks for giving me more ideas.

I’m thinking more about how to build something out of wood that’s interesting, but I love that speaker idea. Headphones do get tiring pretty quickly for me.

I’m the same way! I’m more torso than legs. But for me it’s just an inch or two so I don’t mind. But I’ve thought the same thing.

I love my ErgoDox EZ. But I’ve purchased a Dygma Defy in part because I want wireless. It would be so nice to have wireless power built in to my desk so the keyboard could make us of it. But I agree with all the points in the article. Excep

Org mode was the biggest draw. Magit is amazing, lisp is much better than vimscript, and everything is easy to inspect and modify. At the time I much preferred vim’s approach of being an excellent IDE. I didn’t like Emacs’ approach of being

My learning path was 1) use vim/nvim for a couple years 2) use Doom Emacs. I was shocked at how intuitive Doom is for me. Of course not everyone would agree but it’s worth checking out

Building furniture out of wood. I enjoy it a ton, even the boring stuff like sanding isn’t too bad. Sure beats staring at a screen all day (I’m a Software Engineer but left to my own I will be on the computer ALL day). I find it creative, b

I'm 100% onboard with the notifications thing. My phone only makes noise for phone calls, reminders, and calendar events. All other notifications are silent. In addition to that, I only have a couple of apps that display number of unre

I've used chatgpt to improve both my resume and cover letter. It takes a decent amount of finesse to dial it in but it's very much worth the time and effort. That's about it for me. I monitor about 10 different job sites, alo
