In all seriousness, what attributes are you talking about? Pushing hard for certain software/tech/orgs that they like?

Does it have a Ryzen chip? Or just a big AMD fan? :) I'm excited to see more Ryzen laptops on the market, especially since Zen 2 is looking pretty nice on performance per watt.

To be entirely honest, I miss the glow. I thought it was a cool little feature, even if it didn't do anything much other than look pretty.

Please make a Show HN post or something similar when you feel your work is ready to share; I have a feeling that there are a ton of us around here who would be super interested in checking it out!

swaywm supports screenshots and screen capture for sure [0]. I haven't personally done anything with screen capture on sway, but I can definitely confirm that grim works for screenshots. [0] https://github.com/swaywm&#x

I've just installed the iOS 13 public beta, and I can confirm that certain things are definitely a bit buggy (especially autocorrect, not sure what's up exactly but it's being annoying). However, based on my experience with t

Not completely related, but you reminded me of something interesting I remember hearing about neutrinos. Apparently (HN physicists please correct me if I'm wrong), neutrinos have an extraordinarily tiny objective lifetime, and the on

Bringing back something that essentially matches the 2015 keyboard's characteristics would go a long way with most users, in my opinion.

I'd imagine that any mechanical watch in which the mechanism wasn't designed with the viscosity of oil in mind would be completely incapable of accuracy if one were to add oil.

Yeah, I’m aware. I wouldn’t really care if the watch itself died, but leaking oil would be a bit annoying and making things that should fall apart last longer is often a fun challenge.

Did a little research, and it seems like pure silicone oil is much less aggressive to rubber/latex than mineral oil (and you can get it from Amazon pretty cheaply). Does anyone have any idea what the chemical differences between the tw

This is super cool! Kinda want to try it next weekend... Seeing a lot of commenters wondering if the seals on the watch will manage to keep water out/oil in. Anyone know if it's possible to replace the o-rings or anything like tha

If you don't mind me asking, can you recommend any good resources for getting into generative art? I've been interested for a while and played around a bit, but I'd like to dive in a bit more since I have a bit more spare tim

I was accessing them on mobile earlier, so maybe that was the difference? I'm almost certain I did that. Either way, the author posted the links, so I saw what jv22222 was talking about.

It looks like the links you posted are broken because the site owner doesn’t allow hotlinking to those images. Could you post the link to the blog post with those images? I’d absolutely love to see them!

Yeah, I know about PCPP, used it to research/design my last build. The reason I was asking sbov questions is that I've kinda fallen off the wagon in terms of keeping up with hardware news since I did my last build. Thanks for the

In response to what you said about Navi, I'm also excited about that. I'd really love to see some really strong competition to Nvidia's offerings that might be able to give them a good fight. Their dominance and tendency to p

Yeah, I know. AMD GPUs also run a lot cooler as of the last time I checked. They've made a lot of progress, although the jokes from the R9 2xx-3xx era of a few years ago are still tempting.

Interesting. Do you have any idea as to which Noctua cooler it was? Their highest end ones run really close in price to the lower end AIOs.

Isn't AIO liquid cooling still a good solution for decent overclocks without emptying your wallet for a custom loop? To my knowledge, those $40 silent air coolers perform well but still can't match a big liquid radiator.

Isn't that what AMD GPUs are for? They'd be eating their own market share for PCs that double as frying pans/ovens!

I absolutely love that AMD includes solid coolers with all of the Ryzen chips. I run my R5 1600 with the stock cooler, and, though it runs hotter than it would on liquid or a top tier aftermarket cooler, I've still never felt the need
