I've seen that most companies are still coming around to containerization as the future of their infrastructure. Serverless isn't even on the roadmap, so we're definitely far from peak hype.

App Engine Flex is newer but I wouldn't describe it as "upcoming". My company's been using it in production for a while now.

Truth. This[0] is how we did it for the NYTimes Crossword platform. It took a year and a half, but was managed with a team of only 2 people (myself being one of them). [0] https://open.nytimes.com/play-by-play-moving-the-nyt

It means users' puzzle and game progress was never interrupted, along with login sessions. A half-played puzzle before the cutover could be picked up as it was afterward.

They should worry about making their own businesses profitable first. Sharing snap videos on Twitter? Really? That’s their genius idea? Despite bad PR Facebook is a juggernaught when it comes to actually delivering value to users and making

I've done something like this before: > id = flag.Int64("id", -1, "ID of the thing I want") Obviously that doesn't work for booleans, but you could take the boolean input as a string and then use strconv.Par

MTA liberally shuts down service for hours/days at a time. I wouldn’t chalk it all up to not having enough time to do maintanence. It was 24/7 back when it was functioning more consistently as well.
