How is the tech scene in Tampa? I’m really considering moving there from Atlanta as I feel the crime is getting out of control here.

Reading the title I thought it would be something like Audi's Matrix Lights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDJi240E_ZA

Ahh that’s awesome then. I thought the JDK that shipped with android studio was x86. I’ll try the one adoptium.

It will get even better once everything is arm native. Even the Java Sdk that comes with current version of android studio runs through Rosetta.

I went from a maxed out late 2019 to a maxed out M1 max (except ssd). The M1 is so much better it’s almost crazy and I can finally use my 2 LG 5k monitors again without the machine coming to a crawl. In a lot of ways the 2019 was worse than

If you're going to do drugs always test them. A test kit is cheap, have heard of too many people dying from Fentanyl when they thought they were taking something else. https://dancesafe.org/shop/

I thought I was Multi AZ but something failed. I am mostly running EC2 + RDS both with 2 availability zones. I will have to dig into the problem but I think the issue is that my setup for RDS is one writer instance and one reader instance,

My Elastic Beanstalk instances are completely unreachable. Seems at the very least ELB is down. Looking @ down detector it looks like this is taking a bunch of sites down with it. As usual AWS status page shows all green.

I took the Appbrewery course and it seemed extremely basic and also not updated for latest Flutter versions. I found the free Flutter Apprentice on Ray Wenderlich site much better.

From what I understand there are already cheats that work at the hardware level (read video output, modify mouse input) with all software running on another machine.

Maybe but it worked fine on my previous one (2016 I think but could be wrong). I would do the thermal pad mod if I wasn’t planning on trading it in as soon as the new ones come out.

My 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro (2.3ghz i9/64gb ram) becomes unusable with 2 of the LG 5k monitors plugged in (one on each side). Worst MacBook I have ever owned.

Thanks I didn’t know this was possible. I’m currently running Ruby compiled with jemalloc in production on elastic beanstalk with a custom AMI. If I can swap back to their AMI and just use LD_PRELOAD it will make upgrades a lot easier.

I think they only care if it's the API for a popular app or the API owner has complained. I know they will flag for IG and Snapchat private APIs.

Google Play has the same rule about accessing third party APIs and actually had it before Apple (I know because I’m perma banned from Google Play Development for violating this rule with an app I did)

This has been a rule for a while. I believe it was added because of all the apps using the unofficial Instagram and Snapchat apis initially.

Bookmarked. Looks like a great project. A bit off topic but semi related as this requires 3D printed parts. What’s a HN recommended 3d printer?

I would link the blog post to the app developer. Maybe they will revert some of the changes or fix them.

Does anyone if there is any case law on this? Are you legally allowed to create 3rd party clients for various services?
