You can get a percentage every time the user runs your code. That’s part of the smart contract. So a. You have no server costs and b. You get paid.

DeFi is real - you now have multiple protocols for decentralised finance, where you can “be your own bank”. So those applications exist. Look into Compound, Balancer and MakerDAO.

Bitcoin is technologically irrelevant at this point, since it has abandoned the idea of smart contracts. My guess is it'll be eclipsed by the smart contract platforms - ETH, DOT and ALGO. And eventually just go away.
