https://datatau.net used to be kinda that… but it has been dead for a while, and it looks like the spam bots have taken over.

Multiplex the sensor? Split the laser into 7 ish spots and read all of them at once? That doesn’t sound that hard…

This isn’t a horrible idea, but the risk isn’t really big enough to justify introducing that friction.

Cause the risk isn’t actually that bad. There are three nodes that are running with the same repo. If one of them force pushes, the others have the repo to restore it. In 6+ months that I’ve had this setup, I’ve never had to deal with that

This is the biggest thing I use my Proxmox homelab for. I have a few VMs that I can rebuild trivially. They only have the relevant repo on them. They basically only run Claude in yolo mode. I do wish I could use yolo mode, but deny git pu

I don’t have the time pressure, so I just use tung oil. I throw it in a bag and vacuum seal the spoon (with tung oil) for a day or two, then remove, wipe, and let cure for a month. The resulting finish is largely dishwasher safe for a year

Codex/claude code are the big ones. Scheduled agents in ChatGPT. I’ve been using the study mode recently, and that is nice to have.

I want a kagi mcp server I can use with ChatGPT or Claude. I don’t want to use kagi ultimate (I use too many other features of ChatGPT and Claude), I just want to be able to improve the results of my AI models with kagi.

I think when the half penny was discontinued it had the same buying power as the dime does now or something like that. So this is long overdue.

Only for C41…. For slide film that sets you back. I think the problem is that it sounds like you get worse results for slide film with RGB than you get with C41 and white light. So the tradeoff is only worth it if you shoot no slide and C4

Dynamic range is much better (120dB is ~20 stops, your plustek is ~12 stops. If that matters, I’m not sure.

Man, this makes me want to watch original 35mm releases of all these films. It is unfortunate that they are so hard to get your hands on these days.

Are we talking about different things? Are you referring to set quality, or brick quality? Mould King and Cada do not have the same consistency of fit that LEGO does… so I think we are talking about different things.

I really like codex… but without the ability to launch sub-agents, it kinda struggles with context. The biggest thing I use agents for is getting good search with less context. Codex just struggles when the model needs to search too much be

I like the idea of throwing the note code in the frontmatter of the note. Then it is stable, not tied to the vault, not tied to the name, can be customized on a per note basis if a user wants (00-00 is a specific note for example), and can

Edge geometry only matters after the initial cut. BESS measures how much force it takes for the knife to cut a calibrated thread. Carbide size maybe? But mostly I think it changes toothiness (so slicing, not push cutting). Also, I think t

I don’t understand judging a knife by any measure of “sharpness”? Sharpness is what the sharpener brings to the knife. Edge retention is the steel, but the skills of the sharpener (against how easy the steel is to sharpen) are what define
