Watch douchebags are extremely annoying but I am glad that they bankroll the mechanical wizards who invent shit like this.

This doesn't seem that unreasonable. You don't need to get closer than 8 feet to record police misconduct, and getting closer than 8 feet to an active arrest is definitely pretty goddamn close. The 8 foot perimeter seems perfectly

Twitter is a great LBO candidate but Elon Musk tried to buy it as a consumption good rather than an asset investment. Not that surprised that the deal he made in a fit of pique did not seem so good without the beer goggles and with the mark

Neither. The EU just wants to shake as much money out of the tree as possible given that growing the trees domestically has not really worked out.

The days of hunter-killer drones flying willy nilly through arbitrary environments is already here! What do you think Predator drones are doing in the Middle East?

Yes, as an American living in a city (even a safe one by American standards) almost every city I travel to is safer than default (except for some travel to places of great natural beauty like Madagascar, where I did not wander the cities).

No I think that it's a clear sign of an adult. You don't see many 12-year-olds who can type at the speed that I can type at, although you do see some.

I just paid $250 on Craigslist for an item that I purchased new at IKEA for $149 ten years ago. I wanted a matching one and IKEA had since discontinued the color.

Great analysis. Also, the level at which the OP is understanding the situation means that he is never going to leave the world of the bullshit-takers. Thus his best strategy is to work on continuously improving his technical competence so t

The monkey. The answer would be the same for just a vial of the antibodies, the monkey is completely incidental.

I cannot really say what I would do if I was a monkey, it's like asking me what a circle with corners would look like. Too far outside my ability to imagine. I wouldn't sacrifice any number of humans to save any kind of robot eith

Despite the fact that a man fat enough to derail a trolley, if even possible, likely has an extremely low quality of life and an extremely short life expectancy.

Yes, this is a weird romantic retcon of a highly accomplished mathematician as some kind of artist-drifter. He was not a tip top performer as an undergraduate but this is more like a sixth round NFL draft pick winning the Super Bowl, not so

The established creator thing is so important. For things where the parameters of success are hard to define (what makes a hit movie?) there is no good marker of skill other than having done it before.

This is a bit different, crypto was always a dumb idea but Facebook was hoping to ride some hype/trend train towards… ? I don’t think this is a case where they should have continued to invest.

I don’t think these investments were necessarily stupid. A lot of people in crypto found bagholders and Thiel was probably hoping he could find his own.

I don’t think this will ever happen. You will need to inventory $30,000 parts to sell them for $30,005 (if $5 is the cost of the charge). And the cars will have to have tons of design compromises.
