Exactly. You don't have to like him or like his work. But to fail to see his talent is like thinking that Magnus Carlsen was just in the right place at the right time. Your domain knowledge would have to be so abysmally low that you wo

Bill Gates was an insanely good programmer and Steve Jobs was an insanely good product manager. Yes they also had the right circumstances to succeed, just like J.S. Bach.

Because I vastly prefer native apps and maybe others do too? The biggest advantage is that they stay logged in. I haven’t used AirBNB in 2 years but it’s still logged in. The web app wouldn’t be.

That hardly tells me anything because essentially everyone has a weaker heart than a professional cyclist. So they may be more capable of fighting off whatever hypothetical damage there is. It's like saying, "we threw a brick at 8

I'm amazed at how much "content" people will devour inside their fandoms these days. Whether it's Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc... seems like people will watch like 15 movies of content and happ

Yep. I’m not an opponent of capital punishment for example but wouldn’t want a government executioner to get a hardon while he does it.

Speaking from personal experience, when a “bad” forum is shut down the members are not usually successful in spreading their toxicity into other areas. Sadly it sort of just dies.

What’s your opinion on sites not targeting specific individuals? Like, “people with Property X have no place in civilized society” where readers of this site occasionally went on killing sprees of people in the category?

Everyone says this but except for the hot babes in their bikinis the TikTok algorithm does a TERRIBLE job of seeing what I want to look at, to the point where I use the app less than 15 minutes a month. There's always something absolut

It’s hard to turn a dryer off with software. Most are gas and even for electrics, smart plugs usually don’t support 240V. So you’d need a different kind of arm or hand for each kind of dryer.

Easy to say but harder to do. A death of one's child is essentially an infinitely negative utility event, so any probability of it has an expected value of negative infinity.
