Reddit and YouTube are such huge social media platforms that it really depends on which bubble (read: subreddits/yt channels) you're looking at. There's the "AGI is here" people over at r/singularity and then t

I agree that it's the right answer if it truly doesn't know but I don't think that changes the fact that it failed regardless.

Can you actually demonstrate this workflow producing good software?

Didn't they start failing well before they hit token limits? I'm not sure what the point the source you linked to is trying to make.

I think it's easy to ignore all the times the models get things hilariously wrong when there's a few instances where its output really surprises you. That said, I don't really agree with the GP comment. Humans are the bottlen

DeepSeek did more than just "recycle". Let's not downplay their achievement.

Maybe I'm weird for doing this but I always test the models like this to gauge its confidence. Like you just showed a lot of times it'll just say whatever it "thinks" will satisfy the prompt.

People see that these things generate code and due to their lack of understanding they automatically assume this is all software engineering is. Then we have the current batch of YC execs heavily pushing "vibe coded" startups. The

Not all programming languages are obvious derivatives of C. Haskell is pretty readable once you spend some time getting to know the syntax.

I feel like the opposite is true but maybe the issue is that we both live in separate bubbles. Often times I see people on X and elsewhere making wild claims about the capabilities of AI and rarely do they link to the actual output. That sa

I don't think ChatGPT really disrupted Google search? It definitely forced Google to release Gemini + related products though. Google still has millions of users and they now have AI integrated with search. The latest Gemini models are

Machines have been outperforming humans at a variety of tasks for quite a while now. I'm unconvinced that AlphaEvolve can lead to some sort of singularity.

Spot on. Current models all lack agency. I don't see how something can be AGI but have zero agency. If we can tame it, then it's not AGI.

We haven't seen any evidence of this happening ever. It would be groundbreaking if true and OAI's pricing would then make sense.

If this were true wouldn't we be seeing a massive devaluation of software? (or alternatively increased demand for complex software)

I think what's more important is a company's / team's ability to onboard new hires to their way of working (so what you should be testing is humility and open-mindedness). Ability to work in a team is such a vague measur

Copilot does seem to be catching up in some areas but from my testing Cursor still has better UX. There's substantial value in the "glue" that Cursor provides, one that Microsoft has failed to replicate so far.

One of the biggest issues with these things is reliability. o3 likely increases that quite a bit. The idea itself isn't novel but I don't see why this wouldn't be useful?
