It would be more reasonable to compare a self driving car to the median or average human driver, rather than a highly skilled one. That's what we're dealing with today: humans (distracted, elderly, tired, bored) who routinely kill

Occasionally looking something up is normal, but if you don't know how to append to a list in Python or iterate over a vector in C++ then you probably are not currently writing much code in those languages. That's a signal by itse

Looks like this tries to use better default settings for qemu, which doesn't always have good defaults. I think that is useful practically, as a learning tool, and as a repository of recommended settings.

I'm glad that you have had this experience! However, passing leetcode questions will typically open up new job opportunities and increase total compensation. Anecdotally, I actually find it a good filtering signal for top talent. That

I'm not sure I see the problem with EGS business model compared to Valve/Steam. Epic Games isn't a public company either, it's controlled by Tim Sweeney with Tencent being a large (but not majority) owner. To my knowledg

Being frustrated with the quality of someone's work is understandable. With a bit of practice it's possible to give the same feedback, but in a way that will encourage and teach, instead of what this was.

I don't think it's correct to assert that a different algorithm would be less harmful, and it could even be the opposite. In the article, it says that Wirathu used multiple personal accounts to "friend" at least thousand

I'm not sure, but let me try to provide some reasons. Firstly, Facebook (and the Internet in general) is used for hugely positive things in most people's lives. Stopping service would have a negative impact on most people. That mi

I don't think it's that simple. "The algorithm" historically favoured engaging posts, which basically means "what people care about". This same algorithm pushes all the good things that someone like Wirathu was

The article claims that "Arturo Bejar" was "head of engineering at Facebook", which is simply false. He appears to have been a Director, which is a manager title overseeing (typically) less than 100 people. That isn'

Maybe Discord can be a starting point, and documentation can be written later. One way to think about documentation is that it is useful to help scale up support. But if there is no scale, it is less important.

I believe that people claiming copyright infringement against AIs is bad for several reasons. Firstly, an AI is a tool like any other, and can be used for copyright infringement or not. It is on the user of the tool to ensure that they do n
