Perhaps the people who should go to camps are those creating and designing software and hardware specifically to keep people coming back to their screens and staying there. In this case camps to learn that while they can design them that

The irony is that packaged goods companies generally promote and love recycling because it distracts from reducing, as in reduce, reuse, recycle. Getting people to think recycling helps, rather than mildly mitigates pollution, keeps their s

I think of it more like comparing running a marathon to taking a single step. I've run many marathons, each a single step at a time. Or maybe it's more like comparing one post of mine to my strategy. This podcast episode describes

We learn through experience. I've found that when I answer what I did or offer suggestions, which I've done hundreds of times, the answer is almost always, "Oh, but that wouldn't work for me," followed by their reas

We can all help stop this. Everyone can reduce their contribution. I cut out nearly all packaged food, which reduced my garbage to where I empty it less than once a year (I last emptied my trash in September 2018) http://joshuasp

Geoffrey West, former theoretical physicist now at the Santa Fe Institute, found many scaling laws in biology, cities, businesses, and more. One was that people's walking speed scales with city size. Fascinating results. Here's a

I recommend MacKinnon's The Once and Future World , which talks about the world before our population exploded and overtook the world. It's shocking how much more untouched nature there was, or however I should describe it. Fish

Amazon.com means garbage to me. Mainly because I see how much garbage from them ends up in my building's trash. And my city's trash. The most visible is their packaging, but their ease-of-ordering leads to most of the products
