Start finishing things. It sounds trite but it's true. Some of the best advice I've ever been given is: the way you do anything is the way you do everything. So, finish the smallest tasks consistently and that will carry over to t

Radar guns are terribly inaccurate. In about 1 in 100 readings they are wildly off. Even when calibrated. I know this because my dad - who has an IEEE medal for his work on the laser, has testified as an expert witness on lasers and drives

The thing I hate most about stack overflow is that you can't say please or thanks. You didn't solve the moderator problem with that one.

My problem with whiteboarding anything other than pseudo code is that I'm pretty dyslexic and I've spent years learning syntax at the keyboard. That learning does not translate to the whiteboard. To give an example of how much the

I've had to deal with addresses too and I think this would drive me crazy. You can't make any assumptions about addresses because they'll all be wrong eventually. Even your assumption that an address _has_ a zip code is prett

I think that's the author's perspective on it (which I don't think is wrong). The way I see this is that lots of geeks are absolute slobs and they leave dirty dishes, food, etc.. on their desks (and their neighbors desks). I

I had a friend in college -- really smart physics major -- drop acid one summer and lose the ability to do math. He needed to take a year off and finally finished his degree but was never on top of his game again. I'm not saying that a

I really don't see this being used in rural areas with septic systems. It seems like this problem only really exists in cities where everyone is on the sewer line. That being said, people get pissed when neighbors airbnb their apartmen

Just seems like a bad product. Most people trail the market because they trade too often. If you want your investments to make money, you don't want a product like this in your pocket all the time.
