I'm going to steal your quote. I love it! To add, how could they do any QA when testing needs to map to those unwritten requirements

Not your question, but I tried a bunch after Google Reader shut down and landed on Bazqux. I've been a happy paying customer for years since the dev was so responsive and even helped identify an issue with one of my self-created feeds.

I loved how well the Macromedia products played with each other. Freehand -> Flash or Director just WORKED! Illustrator to these failed miserably.

Seems like a lot of work and hassle... I would have looked for a router that supported printer sharing via USB like this: https://www.tp-link.com/ca/support/faq/745/

Valuing performance has indirect effects on other things: you're forced towards better models, better SQL queries and better validation/verification of data.

I take the original text as "don't just jump into coding right away" which I've seen so many people do. As you said, take a little bit to process and think through it, then start out your pseudocode, etc.

Wow! Do you happen to know what flowers you've got planted there? I would love to do similar. So far I've been doing lots of clover and putting in crocus bulbs randomly.

I don't think I've ever come across any third party actually implementing HATEOAS ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HATEOAS )

For me it really hit home starting with autoit on windows years and years ago. I still have scripts I wrote that work almost 20 years later!

With the rise of ORMS, I'm coming across more and more devs in my work that have no idea how to write performant SQL, and don't ever check to see what gets generated and run "behind the scenes"

This even goes for older smart phones. Just because the company needs to turn a profit, doesn't mean I have the means to continually upgrade every 2 years. I love the efforts people put into things like LineageOs.
