Librarians actually read the books and are experts in the curation of the books. It is not actually about moral authority it is about expertise. Special accommodations are made for students. Parents can ask for their child not to participat

> Will be a rough awakening I used to believe that people would wake up, but that does not seem to be what happens. They are just herded around by the next dog that comes along.

My hypothesis is that when Siri does processing on the phone its abilities are severely diminished. Perhaps there is some heuristic it uses to pick if it processes voice to text on the phone vs on the server (e.g. possibly based on server l

Stallman was right. When will the developer community learn not to contribute to these projects with awful CLAs. The rug has been pulled.

I hate to say it, but I moved from a small car to an SUV recently and I love it. Just about everything about it is better for me subjectively. I understand the perspective of city dwellers and mass transit advocates, I grew up in a city wit

Almost all of the comments have someone’s pet theory about the cause of the decline in achievement. The truth is we don’t actually know why there is a decline or how to stop it.

Reading these arguments are funny to me. By now there should be decades worth of research on this topic, all we seem to do is give anecdote after anecdote with no conclusion. Either no is doing this research or no one trusts the conclusions

I think that performance optimization is not a one size fits all thing. Much of performance has to do with if you are the right fit for a specific environment. Some low performers can become high performers if they are in the right place an

This is the classic innovator's dilemma. Any interesting new innovation from Intel gets snuffed out due to the fact it takes time to get to market. The success of x86 was blinding. Intel was impatient, so it killed products in their in
