We don’t have any plans to rewrite React in Reason right now, sorry! Maybe one day.

> Do third party changes get brought into the external project, and how do they get brought back into the internal project? There's a feature of fbshipit called "importit" that allows for importing an external pull request

External projects that use fbshipit each live in a subdirectory of an internal project. We don't use branches or merge commits, and commits are exported in order.

We don't. We err on the side of moving faster here and asking people not to put internal-only info in commit messages that might be exported. We don't reorganize commits since it's usually more valuable to export them as they

People at Facebook who use both internal repos and external ones (like me) need to know both hg and git. It's not too hard; the two provide similar functionality and many of our hg extensions ( https://bitbucket.org/face

I don’t think that’s accurate. I believe for this specific feature you need to specifically report the message from within the Messenger UI, similarly to how you would report spam or other abuse. Only then is it sent to the human reps. I do

I work on React. We’d love to hear from your team sometimes and collaborate on this sort of thing. We’re solving many of the same problems but I rarely hear from Netflix engineers except at talks when announcing they’re avoiding React or ha

You're allowed to bundle a custom VM for any language if it only executes code included with the app itself.

Thanks! I agree the simplicity is compelling. Our Getting Started page does offer CDN script tags as an option but it's seemed like create-react-app is a better tool for most people getting started on a new app so we've had that m

As the person who designed most of the tutorial, I'm sorry to hear this. My goal was to give people practice building a few simple components and connecting them together. It's true that we assume preexisting JS knowledge, but you

If I'm not mistaken, https://github.com/facebook/react-native/commit/b58207e61fcb... enables the new implementation in RN. So it'll be in React Native 0.49.

Good realization. We were already using Map/Set polyfills in our apps so didn't notice the cost as much. I imagine it should be possible to polyfill with a much smaller footprint; maybe we can find another to recommend. As Dan not

If you notice things that React is doing worse in Firefox than Chrome, let us (React team) know – it's not intentional and we'll want to fix.

This wasn't actually the reason for the reduction, but it is something we weren't acutely accounting for since we already have Map+Set polyfills in our apps and expect most other users to as well. We'll see if we can recommen

We do this both for polyfills and for different compiled code in some cases. Since we need this on the first request (and care about perf on that first request), it's less practical to use JS to decide. User-Agent works well in practic

What's your actual browser? The most common cause I can think of would be if we think you have a newer browser than you do and serve you too-new code as a result. If that's the case, using an older version in the string might help
