True, that is an advantage! I was just speaking in licensing terms.

In addition to hardware improvements, Leopard also brought speed improvements for app launching in particular.

The Mac OS X price is essentially also an "upgrade" price because you can only install it on Macs (which already have OS X installed).

Sorry, it's not possible, but the main reason to create a child account is to get around the Google/Facebook requirement -- since you've already surmounted that hurdle, a child account probably wouldn't be of any more use to you.

Right, we retired the four "challenge" badges (I believe they were arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, and trig) in favor of the new "topic" badges which replace what was there previously. I hadn't heard of anyone particularly upset about tho

Right now we're focusing more on middle school–level math -- we're adding literally hundreds of new exercises in the topics that we are working on but haven't yet had time to work on calculus and beyond.

I don't remember exactly, but it was a few months ago. About a month ago we also launched the ability to create "child" accounts for under-13 users who aren't old enough for Google or Facebook accounts.

As we've seen with Stack Exchange, OpenID is confusing for most users, but good news: you don't need a Google or Facebook account anymore! You can sign up for a Khan Academy account with any email address here: http://www.khanacademy.org/s

I wonder if it's possible to use this as a PCIe-to-Thunderbolt adapter – as far as I can tell, all existing packaged products are at least $500.

Update on this – I saw it in the store and it looks really good. It's barely blurrier than the 1440 x 900 setting and definitely looks better than a native 1920 x 1200 panel would.

My guess is the SSD upgrade would have cost something like $500 and at that point it doesn't make sense to differentiate it from the higher-end model which also includes the new processor.

Is there a way to achieve the same effect while keeping scripts in the <head>? (Not saying that's the best idea, just wondering.)

IIRC they had a blog post about it at some point. You can also add .diff to get a slightly different format.

The email address comes from the git commit itself and was added as a result of running "git config user.email" with the email address. Any git repository has the same privacy "problem".
