This would certainly cut down a bit on the volume of posts, but I would be happy to see this rule added; I think it would improve the quality of the thread significantly.

Never used Google Ads, but you should be able to do something like var GoogleAd = React.createClass({ getInitialState: function() { return { id: makeUniqueId() }; }, render: function() { //

You can choose not to use the React component abstraction at all and just re-call React.render(makeElements(state), el) at the top level each time your app changes (using pure functions to generate the tree). Our plan is also to support pur

The post specifically calls out that distinction: > We are interested in the typical attributes of systems that self-identify as REST, rather than systems which are formally REST.

The Groups app is a mix of React Native and pure Obj-C; the Ads Manager app is 100% React Native: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/facebook-ads-manager/id96439...

Your apps run in JavaScriptCore (like Mobile Safari) on device, but our packager includes a transpiler set up so that you can use most ES6 features already.

It's true that ES6 classes don't cover all existing use cases yet, which is why I specifically mentioned in the blog post that we're continuing to support React.createClass fully. The main Facebook site is still using React.c

Most cases of mixins (especially ones that involve state, as you allude to) can be implemented via composition by creating wrapper components instead. This is how Relay ( http://facebook.github.io/react/blog/2015&#x
