Depends what for, I find AI tools best for boilerplate or as a substitute for stackoverflow. For complex logic, even GPT-4 ends up sending me down the garden path more often than not. I got Llama 3 8B down over the weekend and it's alr

Yeah, I've been keeping up miniature painting and modelling for years whilst thousands of miles away from a decent hobby shop. Don't play much, but only ever really been that excited about the models.

The UK is obsessively into exercise. It might be because a trip to the doctors for anything short of a bullet to the head invariably involves being told to exercise more.

I put this on another comment, but I like it so much I'll do it again here. This is fabulous, and pretty much the graph you're looking for: https://anvaka.github.io/map-of-github/

This post got downvoted, but there's a legit point here. I've found whisper's translated speech to text to be pretty decent, certainly compared to the reported quality of this bergamot-tiny used in the OP. FWIW, I like Helins

Yeah, it'll all be about the model. I do a fair bit of machine translation and the Helinski opus models are generally good enough for groking what a text is about. Definitely better than the examples above.

Anecdata: I live in a high-alcohol, high-language barrier environment in which I've got a limited but workable grasp of the local tongue. Getting smashed really does help, I've had great nights drinking with dudes who don't s

I work with news data professionally, and have found two broad categories of suppliers: the buyers and the scrapers. Buyers are often a bit old school and frankly far more expensive than it's worth. Also good luck getting a usable, aff

Absolutely. The notion that fierce competition for survival is the state of all things in nature is reductionist at best, and incredibly harmful when applied to the human social world. Take some of the more successful species out there: the

I love zotero. The combination of annotation, highlights, document management and a healthy plug-in ecosystem are just killer for me. It feels a bit dated sometimes, but I'm yet to find anything that comes close.

This may be a good time to give Linux a go as a daily driver, if that's possible. I made the switch a year or so ago, and it's been really refreshing having my laptop not treat me in the way you describe.
