If only it was that easy. Last month MJ12Bot hit my site from 136 distinct IP addresses. If we drop the last octet, it's 120 unique class-C addresses, and if we drop the last two octets, then 43 unique class-B addresses (and why not-

You can read the rest of my MJ12Bot saga: http://boston.conman.org/2019/07/09-12 My take: they are grossly incompetent at programming.

I'm running my own DNSoverHTTP instance at home. I have Apache, with HTTP/2 support, running, some self-signed certificates, and a CGI script that accepts the DNSoverHTTP request and makes a DNS call to my local version of bind.

You seem to be asking for a single clear answer. Okay, here's one: node.js. Learn it. Live it. Love it. Use VS Code. Learn it. Live it. Love it. Is this the best combination? Many seem to use it (it's the current hotnes

I read the thesis, and it is incredible. Massalin developed Synthesis OS to run on Sun machines (using a 68030 if I'm not mistaken), and was able to run Sun OS executables on her OS, faster than Sun OS could run its own executables.

It's that bad. Very few writers can make a living just off writing novels. I have a friend who wrote, six? seven? novels and just couldn't make it as a novel writer. There's just too much competition [1] these days. [1] No

As I stated a few days ago [1], there are times when you have no debugger (or a debugger won't help you as was in my case). Learning to debug via print() is a useful skill to know. [1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item

It could be the alien equivalent of anthropology or zoological grad students trying to study indigenous life on our planet. Encounters could be explained as them pulling drunk pranks on the natives.

It depends upon the architecture and compiler. One C compiler for the MC68000 might have int as 16 bits (since externally, the MC68000 had a 16-bit external bus) but another one have ints as 32 bits (since the MC68000 can handle 32-bits in

I've done something similar (but not exact) for Lua [1]. I was testing code to trace Lua execution and found some code that was executed more than I expected [2]. Adding a trace like you described should be easy as well in Lua. [1]
