There was a time in my life where I really thought I needed to keep up with the latest and greatest technologies, libraries, et cetera. As the author discovered, you don't need to. I can now sleep easily knowing that I 'marked as read' the

You are kind of making the assumption that there should be something better than Vim and Emacs because they where created decades ago and are not pretty "gui driven" applications. Programming is simply writing and editing text. Vim and Emac

This man is trully an inspiration! I'm a developer but I dropped out of college (Finance and Banking) because of great work opportunities a few years ago. I should really go back and get my degree so I can finish before I'm 30. Great articl

Libraries? Do you mean Sass and Compass? You don't need them to make the exact same effect, but it's just smart to do so because it will take you a lot less time and headaches. Besides, you just serve a compiled version so you're basically

I think his best plan would be to put the price back at 1.99 after he gets the publicity he needs and leave it there while he works on the next iteration or game. Then make a sale or 0.99 a few weeks before the new launch to create some med

Why should it even matter? What unites all of us is a love for entrepreneurship or hacking or both. What difference does being gay make in this field? No one really cares about your sexual orientation in tech. Don't get me wrong I have noth

I believe you need to be aware of your markets behavior first. There will come a point where your revenue will start stalling and even decreasing, and that's a great moment to release a major update or start a sale. You want to increase you

Oh yeah totally right, but there comes a time where no matter what you do, you're going to keep making less and less money out of the game because even though there are 250k new users ever day, the people that where interested in buying you

That may be so on your case, but I've found in my experience that generally if a phone call is more productive than email it's because the topic at hand has not been developed enough to use a quick action based method to deal with the commu

Yeah when I first read it I thought the same, but you do have to admit that the title made all the difference in regards to exposure. I even think i could have made a better job of the title had I actually though about it more, but since th

You sell your app for 1.99 and get a bunch of customers, who speak to other people and in time sales in this particular market start to slow down considerably. At this point you increase the price to make up for lost revenue on new sales. T

The trend is not to upvote stories based on their title, the trend is to attract more users into the story and the inherent discussion of it. I never upvote a story I haven't read or at least skimmed over and agreed its worth other peoples

A couple of hours ago I made a comment here about the importance of giving a good article a good title so it does get read in here. In comparison at this moment the original post went from 6 to 25 points (thanks to this post), this post and

Yep that's correct, but that's how it is now. I can submit a story with any title I want. If you really want to submit a story that has been buried by a lousy title, there are ways to do so (as I did with this story a couple of hours ago)

You're so correct. Why use the phone when I can answer on my terms and time with a two sentence answer in less than 10 seconds. Using the phone takes those 10 seconds just to call the person. The phone is a tool for emergencies and to short
