What I'm missing is on board flash. Even 512MB would be such useful for many usage scenarios to put OS there. SD cards are biggest source of problems on long run RPi's without some tweaking. There are almost none SBC with built in

Nothing against Python (I'm using it) , but those solutions have huge performance impact comparing C/Rust on bare-metal. Interrupt handling, GPIO operations are orders of magnitude slower in python. Take such simple board and run

Correct me if I'm wrong: Aonix is not existing - it was bought by PTC. Their real time Java is now targeting only x64/x86 systems. You are wrong about "anything less" Anything less is probably 90% of market. You will fin

J2ME is nowhere near being hard real-time. Minimal Java ME Embedded configuration: 32-bit MCU, 130 KB RAM, 350 KB Flash/ROM. This is close to border where systems have MMU and is considered very "big" configuration in realm o

It's not only a language that is key to success. Libraries. I searched for LDAP support for ADA (old protocol used by many companies). I found library ( http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/adaldap/ ) with lates

Too pricey, hard to work with for average Joe because of connectors, expensive "blocks". I can't find any single advantage over countless ARM boards with prices starting as low as 5$..

Yes - that was my assumption too, after reading how they did it. I've installed it, launch first command (tcpdump) to sniff traffic and got error message. Second command "ip", another error. Got back to Linux :)
