A reasonable person would assume that it works during the day. Of course it won't work by starlight. I have no idea how common this configuration is, but it makes perfect sense. It is almost like a battery-capable system, but without t

It's up to you. I followed along with your questions, in the typical order, so you can just add in the matching headers if you like. The notable difference is that I'm a former maintainer. Also, it was core system utilities writte

Consider building a home in Fremont, CA. As of early 2018 you'd pay about $155,000 in fees to build a single-family home, or about $75,000 for a unit of multi-family. Building a cheap home would be silly. The fees might be several time

I don't think the neighbors want apartments either. That would instantly crater the desirability of the neighborhood. This matters both for the people concerned about finances and for the people who just want to live their lives in pea

This generation also has the luxury of building homes on undesirable hills in cities without a tech industry. Nothing has changed. My grandma might have wished to build in lower Manhattan, but that was already occupied and expensive. She we

You can find your own land to own. Back in 1962 my grandma had her house built on some undesirable empty hills, in the city but far from the action. There wasn't a tech industry. That house is in the geographic center of San Francisco

Then the deal killer: the desire for maximum possible control via ownership, without being subject to the whims of a landlord. Even a condo fails at this. The ownership is fake. You don't have permission to bore a hole in the roof, fou

It's not risk free. Keeping a secret becomes harder as more people are involved. Employee (or contractor) turnover means more people are involved. The same goes for the number of work sites, with each remote worker being their own work

That's just in a few places with crazy house prices. Generally, the situation isn't like that. For example, in my location the median house prices are less than 3x the median household income.

We could recover the energy. mgh = 0.5mvv Cancel out the mass, round g to 10 m/s/s, assume a velocity of 30 m/s, and solve for h: h = 45 We thus need a rotary that is elevated 45 meters above the road. That is about 150 feet.

This is the case for people with little need for space. If you are happy to rent a room and you don't need a parking spot, you get a great deal. Investments and mail-order items aren't any more expensive in San Francisco. Local ex

The quick fix for desk height is 4 or 8 concrete blocks. You can get half-thickness concrete blocks to make the height 0.5 or 1.5 blocks. For most people, 2 blocks lying flat with the holes horizontal is enough for standing at the desk.
