It's all behind us now, but... Don't run all network services on a Gentoo box. Don't write yet another C++ strings library. Don't write yet another C library. (that is, a libc implementation) Don't put developer wor

I suspect I go through about 4 rolls of paper towels per day with a family of 14. Clearly you have a low per-person rate of usage.

The limits on staple foods are hitting me hard. There is no adjustment for family size. I have 12 kids. I grabbed all the sliced mild cheddar cheese, which was only about ten half-pound packages. We could go through that in 3 to 10 days, de

Many people do experience GI issues before the lung troubles become noticeable. Another early symptom is loss of smell.

Say, maybe you could pass this along to the design team: My kids all reject the current interface. They loved the interface it had a few years back. In case you need more info to identify what I refer to, I'll describe it. I'm pre

Those are not opposites. An engineered virus can escape via incompetence. A non-engineered virus can be intentionally released. We can't prove that the virus was or was not engineered unless somebody finds a copyright message in the RN

For wet lungs, the person should be upside down to allow drainage, as if doing a head stand. Of course this is not easy or comfortable, but it helps.

Start with a justification for sharing. Don't cause a run on any of the food suggestions people are giving. Be sure to allow large families. People can have over 20 kids, at least 4 generations in one house, or lots of cousins together

You easily give medication or draw blood via the head. Air locks and captive gloves (like a glove box) are also workable. If you were to be the patient, I think you would say iron lungs are "superior". The alternative is tubes jam

A simple nasal cannula with oxygen ought to work for most cases. Assuming you need physical help though: Iron lungs are superior. They avoid throat injury caused by tubes, they allow semi-normal talking and eating (time it right), and they

Many decades ago, the health department should have shut down the shared bathrooms and shared bedrooms. We knew it wasn't OK as soon as we agreed upon the germ theory of disease. It would be great if this disease would finally put a st

Ouch, the /usr/bin/tar team beat me. I only added 63 options to /bin/ps from Slackware 3.1 (1996) to Ubuntu 12 (2015). They added 81 options. If I'd known about the contest, I could have added enough options to

My son kept up with a bike group on trails for 30 miles. To do that you should have a 36" wheel. An alternative is a geared unicycle, but those are expensive and rare. Choose crank arm length as needed to make the pedaling most effecti

IDA Pro started as a 16-bit MS-DOS program. It's real old. I'm pretty sure I was using it back in 1992, when it was already a well-developed program. Ghidra is old too, although only recently public. It couldn't be older than

You need the TI-84 Plus CE. It has the eZ80 with a 320x240 color screen. There is a C compiler for it. You get sizeof(int)==3 and sizeof(void*)==3 with that compiler.
