I think an auxillary testing group is a good idea. Someone who tests all the components as a cohesive whole. Ensuring it acts as expected in terms of businesss expectations. My experience though has been counter productive though. I expect

I've only had two types of contracts. One is absolutely nothing to do, what I'm hired to do is not feasible and shelved. The second is so busy, so much overtime you can't breathe. So many jobs now, over work and expect over 4

Summing this up be careful and do your research. This is a sore topic for me. I bought a home in 2013 at 25. I did it because the rent for the attached duplex was 1600, and my mortgage was 900 at the time. Now my mortgage is 1300 and their

Yes and no, it goes to the culture. My current team, where that quote is apt, has slack. But it's rarely used. On a prior role when we had discussions exceed the HipChat/Slack medium we did a quick google hangout/skype sessio

I've worked partially remote for the past two years. I had one horrid stint fully remote where they thought remote == 24 hour work days. There are pros and cons to remote. It depends on your team and their culture. Some teams need a wh

I don't have an issue with 9 to 5 if the time is used wisely. You're paying me a salary per year. Is that salary to get a product out of me, or to fill a seat? My issue is the time waste. It's been exacerbated recently becaus

I'm new to the CLR build system myself, and have sort of gotten stuck on project formatting. The F# side seems to have some newer build systems, and are trying to go towards a simpler build/project system. For dependencies see Pak
