Even with compound interest $100/mo is only going to yield retirement like savings over 40 years with >=10% interest rates and monthly compounding. It also neglects the fact that the cost of retirement might be much higher when that

The microcode update will probably be automatic but it might also be distributed as a bios update. Realistically there’s no way to tell if you have an affected unit or not (Intel hasn't provided any information that would help). Nor is

It's not uncommon for B2B software to isolate each customer in their own database.

I don't know if you've noticed but governments rarely do the right thing for the sake of it.

Oh I misunderstood your original comment. What incentive do the towns/vendors have to setup these systems in that case?

Given the volume of resume spam these days, do you have any tips for getting eyes on my application?

Low-fi university sites are often maintained by professors who have been around a long time and have a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude. In this case, it appears the author is still active at the university. h

I would guess that they want to create more high quality tooling for Lua because that's what every game published on Roblox has to use. By unifying their stack it could be argued that they're reinvesting it what makes Roblox great

Go modules can be hosted in any Git repository. The Go toolchain also keeps hashes of the selected tag so if you've reviewed it once it will never change without you explicitly giving it the ok.

My car is a 2021 Toyota SUV and it only has one recall for a minor issue where the rear turn signals could dim or fail prematurely.

A couple of years ago these vehicles had a similar fire risk recall due to electrical issues with the trailer hitch connector. Probably best to steer clear of Kia if you don't want your car to burn. :/

Ideally a LLM would have every text in existence in its training set, right? I doubt we’re anywhere near that now.

Looks like the operating system is only for managing browser windows. There are no native apps of any kind. Plenty of great browser apps exist but that's worse than a chromebook in terms of usability.

Who would the competitor be in this case? The bots hurt the TF2 community but Valve obviously earns the vast majority of their cash elsewhere. My understanding is that the bots are run by teams of trolls on secondhand hardware that would ot

Yes, it’s their right to let it rot but they should be honest with their players if that is the intention. In actuality TF2 has a façade of support. Valve is still regularly releasing their gambling based micro transactions and earning mill

It’s difficult to automate and TF2 has very little support from Valve. Valve has been building a new generation of server side anti-cheat, that is powered by neural networks, but it’s only in use for Counter Strike 2 AFAIK.

The OP has already stated that this is a fairly thin wrapper around R2. They’re charging 6x the R2 metered rate for a tier that most users will only consume a fraction of. That kind of pricing seems distinctly unfair.

It seems like they’re asking you to write out your plans and what makes you trustworthy on the website. Talking to people 1:1 won’t solve that problem. Saying “you can’t trust me” isn’t a good look for a SaaS.

Why isn’t your pricing metered? Flat rate for storage generally feels scammy and the enterprise “contact us” really confirms that for me.
