At the face level none of the individual requirements are absurd. That said, to meet all of their specific criteria is quite the challenge. Just take a look at the actual requirements. [0] I work in local government and personally know dedi

People aren't qualifying because, as the article points out, the requirements for the program are absurd. It's really apparent when you look at how little student debt has been forgiven compared to the amount allocated for the pro

This is a pretty clever idea though the execution feels a bit off. My guess is that this would appeal most to a younger audience but how many teenagers communicate via email? I think it'd be a hit if it could somehow integrate with soc

How you enable write access varies by model. For mine you simply remove a screw. That said, I'm not sure you'd want to enable it permanently. That sounds dangerous.

It's probably Chromium. GalliumOS defaults to Chromium with some fixes to make it more Chromebook like.

I did something similar with my Chromebook. I flashed the bios and installed Arch + Sway + GalliumOS patches. It's been a pretty stellar experience so far.

I agree. You can set up a Heroku like setup pretty easily. Push to GitLab to trigger your pipeline that builds your container. Now your $5 vps with docker compose and watchtower is updated.

I can't wait to try out Workers. I've always found "serverless" interesting in concept but the cold starts and vague pricing keep me away. It's pretty cool that Workers actually makes latency better rather than neut

Eh. YouTube isn't a very good platform for music, and it's even worse if you aren't paying for the premium service. Why wouldn't you use something like Spotify?

Perhaps I should have worded my statement a little differently. I meant that you can always skip the ads that are essentially entire videos.

That's not quite right. While you can get ads that are 15 minutes long they can always be skipped within 5 seconds. That's not even comparable to television.

I'm not sure I see the value proposition. Currently my bank (Alliant Credit Union) gives 2.08% on my savings and .648% on my checking. I'd say they're very reasonable with their fees considering I don't think I've e

I did read the article. I guess I should have phrased it differently. The employers of these researchers already know what they're researching. They understood the risks involved so what would it matter if somebody calls in? If the res
