If I remember correctly, a night train from Stockholm to south Europe implies a change of train in the middle of the night in either Malmö or Copenhagen - which sort of ruins the the concept of sleeper trains.

Spent a lot of time with the Kinetis DMA. Luckily I had nothing to compare it with. Learned later it was not as other DMA:s.

Regarding "uber binaries" vs containers. Doesn’t containers like docker provide other license options? i.e. you can mix GPL and proprietary licences? I'm no expert on this, so please correct me if I'm wrong!

There is device tree [0] to resolve the problem with chip support but I guess it would make "universal" drivers more complex and harder to maintain if all hardware features are to be supported (in an effective way). Seems like the

Many languages seem to suffer from legacy support. C++ and PHP for example. The double standard might be the only way to avoid this!?

I have the same experience with FPGA development boards. I wanted to learn VHDL but gave up after 2 days with the "getting started" tutorial.
