What portion of any of the hot online education projects could have been done without the web? For instance, how much of each of them could have been replicated by mailing people DVD/VHS lecture videos and quiz software? If most of it cou

I am surprised by this view. Most homeless people I've met who would not jump at the chance for a decent place to live are either mentally ill, addicted to something, or both. The other kind, the middle class kid having a time of exploratio

If I am reading this right, then you can get efficiency gains by attaching methods to an object's prototype rather than defining them directly in a constructor. This way, the method is only created once, and is just reference by all instanc

What I never understood is why an attacker couldn't just mirror the user's actions to the real site and scrape the confidence image or word from there to show on the phishing site. What am I missing?

That's the reality of the situation when you boil it down. But technically, a mortgage holder did completely buy his home form its previous owner, and does now own it himself. It's true he paid for it with money borrowed from the bank (and

I hate it greatly when people won't say "I don't know", but instead hem and haw and avoid the question or give obtuse answers. Once someone admits they don't know, it's fine, you can work to solve the problem another way. But for that to

At a high level I feel like we should be no more influence by those who say we're right than wrong. In a way, being driven to prove people wrong is being controlled by them. Because sometimes they may be correct, and our best bet would
