Making a comeback? When did it ever go away? The author talks about high frequency trading and finance applications, but it does not seem he has ever worked in the field. Production HFT is written in C++.

Lol, turn out fine. Health condition is not binary. There are way more nuances between healthy, hospitalised and dead. We are only now getting a better picture of the aftermath.

You are clearly misinformed. The CDC has already created a new code for the disease, along with a name: PACS https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/clinical-care/...

What's the point here? Is electricity even the bottleneck of water desalination? I thought the biggest issue with these plans is the brine. That is the major pollutant, and no amount of solar panels will solve that.

The author is talking about buying puts. These have expiration dates and a set price. Not only he believes bitcoin will collapse, he is basically suggesting he has a crystal ball on when it's going to happen.

Agree. Look at Santos, Brazil, as an example. Lots of buildings near the coast are visually tilted because of the terrain : https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/leaning-towers-of-santos It hasn't been an issue.

What's the point of reclaiming land in a country that has vast amounts of land to be used, like the US? I can understand why Singapore does it.

Do people seriously believe antibiotics are magic shots that make you whole again? Syphilis is associated with serious sequela, some that only show up years later. When humans build a great tool to eradicate a disease, people think it'

China is not innocent by any means, but I sense some hypocrisy from those that arrogantly think they have a higher moral ground here. Pretty much every country has their own "Trail of Tears", even the progressive and almighty Cana

Don't think this assumption that "the employer will pay according to the cost of living" is true at all. Non-tech worked in Silicon Valley are not getting the same kind of party, for example.

I'm surprised there is no mention about the Steiners moving a civil lawsuit against eBay. Specially after criminal charges were applied. It seems that it would be an easy win, or at least a large settlement.

They had the chance to defend themselves after the case became public. What did they do? Had their trails tucked between their legs and went to hide. It's a shame only these pawns were charged.
