There's a decent amount that can still be done cleanly. You can count how many impressions were served vs how many clicked through. You can use campaign slugs to measure which sites sent more, or how effective different ads were. Yo

I genuinely enjoyed SNMP Mastery, much to my surprise. The Networknomicon edition treats the subject with the perfect measure of contempt.

The account that first posted a video of Elon being booed on stage at a recent comedy show, was swiftly suspended. It's very difficult to deny this quacks like a duck.

I've seen the other side of this and it's not pretty. We had a round with a very indecisive manager who seemed to be apprehensive that an even better candidate might come along next week. We interviewed 15-20 people over the run

A lot of those alternatives have adopted the pi's form-factor as a loose standard, so there's a reasonable chance this is going to work on many of those alternatives. We're almost starting to reach a point where Pi is being d

It irks me that this is the bulk of what we're taught of phishing training - just to look for the obvious mistakes. We've been seeing a rise in attacks that are launched from compromised accounts, where the email is a reply to a p

That's my theory - "zero covid" had good success, but has resulted in very little herd immunity. And by all reports their homegrown vaccine program hasn't had fantastic results. I think if & when they end "zero

I spent a few years in the US, and this struck me so hard. It's really difficult to even explain. You know how see something like cows being sacred in parts of India, and we can't even get our heads around it? I feel exactly the

It's not so much that we've stopped calling them 4x4 - it's more than the 4WD market has diverged. A 4x4 is designed to get muddy. An SUV is designed to traverse speed bumps & children's bodies with dignity. To my

Honestly, nothing. I just enjoy the symmetry. But really - we like to think there's a sensible definition of what a country is. There isn't. What makes Scotland a country and not Montana? I'm in Ireland, the examples get e

I had the same issue - iirc it's a 486 with some Pentium extensions. It has enough of the 586 set to fool you into thinking it is one, but not enough to fool glibc. So you need to have glibc specifically built for i486 otherwise li

That was my first thought too, but .. I honestly don't think I'd take that bet. I still have an A1200, and I struggle to think of anything that'd be genuinely improved by having, eg 7GHz instead of 7MHz (to take the article&#

The way I prefer to think of it, is the UK is a state comprising of several countries, and the US is a country comprising of several states. I can't promise it's any more accurate, but it amuses me.

Ireland technically doesn't mirror the UK's timezone. Irish Standard Time is UTC+1, and we go back an hour for winter. Unlike the UK, which is at UTC+0, and goes forward an hour for the summer. They're functionally identica

I'm not sure the plastic cup is a great example. Plastic cups are easier to recycle than paper cups, since paper cups are plasticised on the inside - resulting in a mixed material that needs to be recycled separately.
