Man, I miss what.cd, not just for the content but for the obsessive users they had and the collections they made. Want all albums with a shoe as the cover? They have a collection for that. Want good music to start a journey into classical m

Using `nix` I have an alias called `serve` that runs `nix run nixpkgs.caddy -c caddy -host 0.0.0.0 -port 8000 browse` which will download Caddy if it is not in my cache and then run it. It's one of my favorite aliases and I use it way

Agreed, this together with how they handled the redesign of the website left a sour taste in my mouth. Especially with the promised retrospective that has been promised for over a year now; there have been at least two posts on the internal

Same thing when I worked in a convenience store in Norway, bananas were far and away the most sold item, even during very busy seasonal peaks.

Do you have a public repo for your blog? I couldn't find anything on GitHub.

Mostly that Emacs only exports to HTML without any context of the content, in a blog you'd like to extract the metadata which org-mode doesn't, it just exports the whole buffer as HTML. I've been thinking about writing a blog

As much as it pains me, org-mode is no better than Markdown when it comes to standards or implementations. There's basically just one de facto implementation of it, and it has no specification or standard. There are parsers out there,

I really enjoy using https://makemeapassword.ligos.net for xkcd-style passwords because the sentences you get are a lot easier to write as they sort of follow the natural syntax of English, yet are still completely nonsense. My

I can vouch for CLion with intellij-rust, it is by far the best Rust editor/IDE available at the moment. RLS still suffers from slow/no auto completion and crashes too much for my liking. The pace and features that are coming out

I'd also like to mention that getting to the documentation for anything with Rust is fairly annoying, mostly because a ton of the stuff in the book links to the first edition and getting from the first edition to the current one is rea

Might be, but in general the attitude and laws surrounding ownership of code (and most anything else) is very different in Norway, and I would assume Sweden. Here anything you make is explicitly yours and you have full ownership over it, ev

I've moved away from using any kind of script embedded in my webpages for tracking and instead just use Goaccess ( https://goaccess.io/ ) to analyze my logs. Though there are obvious caveats with this, you need to instal

I wonder if it would be possible to create a uBlock Origin like thing that automatically opt you out of everything on a website instead of having to go three menus down just do click them.

5MB is nothing compared to what you'd use for a similar project in node or Python or Ruby. Sure, it's not the tiniest it could be, but using tools like strip, not including debug symbols etc it gets pretty damn small. Honestly tho

Gitea is a fork of Gogs, so it has everything on that list and more. Sadly Gitea suffers from the usual problem that open source projects has, poor documentation. If you really want to compare feature lists, here's the one listed on th

The biggest difference is the community around them, Gogs is more or less the brainchild of Unknwon and he used to have a tendency to just drop of the planet and Gogs would sit still for weeks (or even months) at a time without anyone being

From what I've gathered and seen around the web the problem isn't really that git isn't decentralized, it's that it's purely a code versioning tool. With GitHub you have a community, an issue tracker, a wiki, possib
