I wonder how much more power you can provide it to lift a human for a say half an hour. I've always wanted to build a jetpack like that from xDubai [0]. This is definitely easier to build for an amateur compared to the one professional

I do plan on building a house (buying some land, finding a contractor and getting it built). Houses in Ontario are getting crazy expensive (as an example - a friend of mine was able to get land + house for ~800k when the going rate of a pre

If Mopeds or bicyclists or the like want to be on the road - that's fine. Get a Bike license and Insurance. A few weeks ago, a bicyclist clipped my bumper at a red light. I made sure it was safe, pulled over, put on my hazards, and got

That's true of Apple - how about SNAP or SHOP? or a ton of other smaller software companies that most have not even heard of apart from the ones in the know?

What's not to get? The owner gets more control - both on the company, it's long term vision, it's investors and the future of the company. It's a win for all. What advantage does being public get you? It gets you $ at a

I'm not sure what to think about this - the next few releases would be the deciding factor. One of the main reasons I use Lubuntu is the fact that it got out of my way (install Lubuntu, remove the handful of stuff that came pre-install

I am a bit disappointed they didn't add some of the features of the OnlyKey - such as passcodes (and having the ability to self destruct the contents). Those would be awesome to have if someone decides to steal your keys (yes I am awar

One big issue I have (and I'm trying various solutions around it) is code upgrade. Let's say we are doing something one way - step 0, and we realize "hey, guess what' there's a better way" - let's call it

what about linux users? Like I get that people don't like Electron because of it's resource heavy nature but it's been a boon to us Linux users who have finally been getting a lot of cross platform apps and I truly appreciate

I'd consider it if they had an SDK. While I agree that it's just android under the hood - a price of $300+ and not letting developers get in on the action is just too much for me.

I blame that on docker hub. It's the fault of Docker - the company. They have a security scanning software that they decided was an enterprise feature. This sort of issue is to be expected if you claim that security to be an enterprise

not to be pedantic but why should containers be patched for security issues? the entire point of containers (and orchestration systems) is the ability to push updates without downtime. Just update with a newer container....am I missing some

I'm surprised no one mentions LXDE (Lubuntu). It's really light on resources and works great! (been using it for around a year now on my personal devices).

I find the pricing weird (as mentioned on Reddit). It's cheaper to run a 100 GB M5 than an M1. I assume it's a typo?

I'd say the most important measure would be to fix the root cause. If kids don't have access to fans, they'll find something else.

if you are dead, you don't have to deal with failure. For young kids who are easily impressionable - failure not being an option is forced into kids since kindergarten. This is the very obvious result.

You have 3rd party companies which provide such services [0]. I personally just built an automated git push + email that will get sent if I don't stop it every week. Simple, Clean & Free. And my email has been prepaid for ~2 - 3 yr

I understand that...but when you are spending 1k does $5 really matter in that context? I'm genuinely asking - 1. 999 - looks cheap 2. 998 - mmm..why not this? 3. 995 - nice number divisible by 5 4. 990 - well...why are we loosing $10
