Some more-unhinged ultranationalist elements of Russian societies loathe Western culture and what they see as 'decadent' Western values on their culture. This is not new. Xenophobia and hate of the Other has a long and sordid hist

Spain underinvests in its military. Russian mafias also control much of the costas. I would surmise that the Russians think that Spain and Portugal are cowed, and want to keep them intimidated and prevent them from increasing their aid to

The central tenet of techno-fascism / the hard alt-Right / the Dark Enlightenment, is that democracy itself is incompatible with "freedom" (as techno-fascists understand it).

I seem to remember that Russia has significant expertise in building powerful and compact microwave sources to control and heat plasma in tokamaks. Nizhny Novgorod is a known centre of expertise in such technology. It wouldn’t be such a str

I'd say the author's mental model of the nature of C as a programming language isn't accurate, not helped by efforts to standardise the language. It could be argued that C is little more of a defined programming language any

I’m not familiar with the minutiae of the current rules, but I know that the penalties around not screening for sanctioned entities are now quite severe. The funny bit, is that as soon as you SEE a hit against a sanctions list, the clock st

Much of the data is indeed public. LSEG have analysts going around all the websites of major government entities publishing sanctions lists to update their database. If you’re politically exposed or get mentioned in the media for being conv

The data goes stale after a while. The real value of World-Check, is that it’s constantly updated, and if you’re using LSEG’s KYC screening platform, you get notified in real time as soon as anybody you’ve screened gets a new hit or update
