I 3D print enclosures for my projects. Usually I find an already designed one on Thingiverse that fits close enough. If you're using common components you're likely to find an exact match.

This is also the case at my (large) company. We have a lot of Java code around, but anything new is Kotlin. The teams pretty universally strongly prefer it.

I have a low end Bose bluetooth speaker that connects up instantly to any of my powered on devices (2x Macbook, iPhone), and can switch between them seamlessly with a button press. I've also never had any issues with Sony WHM1000XM* he

Idea: put 2 on the car, opposite each other. Provides redundancy in the event one is damaged & increases usability by not being fussy about the specific parking situation.

Corrosion is still a problem anywhere they salt the roads (i.e places it snows). Much less of a problem than in the past, but still an expected thing at a certain vehicle age. Normal driving results in tiny rock chips over enough miles and

I think that may be a universal experience with TV repairs, based on a friends experience with a name brand. He had to bring it to a local repair shop where they then held it for over 6 months. Maybe he was just unlucky.

I use both as well and see no reason to pick only one or the other. The USB stick hubs are very cheap and Home Assistant does all the heavy lifting seamlessly. Having both gives me pretty much unlimited flexibility. For devices I usually pi

Interesting, maybe your ZWave dongle is not the greatest? I also run a mix of ZWave & Zigbee with their own appropriate dongles plugged into my Home Assistant server and they've both been great. No issues with devices dropping or n

I’ve never experienced Gradle outright breaking itself, but it does deprecate things at a high rate. We try to update dependencies whenever we touch a project, which every few months means making an adjustment for whatever Gradle decided to

I don't think anyone wants an iMessage specific messaging app. But if it works on Android like iMessage does on iPhone, I bet people would use it. On iPhone iMessage isn't a specific app, the single app just communicates via iMess

Why would you need to prioritize one over the other? Plumbing, electrical, etc already utilize the same spaces inside of walls and floors. No reason this couldn’t be done the same way without cutting down the living area at all.

I love the idea, but yeah that outcome was predictable. Home automation is very much still in the hobby stage and most people simply don't care about it. I own my home & am into automation - but I don't plan on living in this
