I have 2 kids and I love them and yes they are an asset but at the same time they are expensive. My point is... Once you have kids, I guarantee you will be more risk averse. The best time to start a business is before you have kids or after

For someone with entrepreneurial aspirations, getting a corporate job is a great way to learn more about a business or a market. However, be aware it can be a trap. Getting married, getting a mortgage, having kids, may keep you trapped at

Having been poor (not 3rd world poor, poor by American standards) I found the most difficult thing is leaving the poverty stricken network. You don't feel like you've made it until you reject the entire mindset. Until then, you feel like yo

That's exactly why shouldn't have a "national education system" or standardization of schooling. We need education that fits the student not one size fits all factory schooling. As for meaningful ways for colleges and employers to measure c

Yeah, I ain't Rockefeller. But the biggest reason I haven't done it is the city government. The above reasons not to invest in Detroit are clear - taxes, unknown assessments, liability. Allowing some of the land to go fallow or zoned agricu

I agree. In the long run Detroit has potential. But before they can make any economic strides they need to fix their bloated corrupt city government. If you want to make a real 100 year bet on Detroit, buy some real estate now, it has never

I guess it depends on your definition of success. I've hated school since about the 2nd grade. I was forced into an "alternative" program in High School where I learned little or nothing but how to play backgammon and eat snickers bars and

Are you looking for some universal value? How about, "We should not use violence or coercion against peaceful people, and we must intelligently and slowly begin to work toward that goal. Violence is not an acceptable answer to our problems.

You're asking for specific answerers to many complex questions. I'm not going to try to put them in a few words here. If you are honest about your desire to understand libertarian ideas read "Healing our World in an Age of Aggression" by Dr
