The article completely misses one key point - SV and the start-up cycle involve acquisitions that then result in payouts for founders, who then go on to fund additional companies, some of which exit and repeat the cycle. Even if Google did

Never said it was a palace, but it’s a house for less than what the program wants to spend on a unit, likely equivalent of a one bedroom.

There are ways around many of these things, including variance/non-conformity applications. But I’m sure you know that given your blog post. Boyle Heights is not a wealthy/expensive neighborhood and there is a large amount of hous

I’m LA resident and you can absolutely buy condos for less than that. In fact, here’s a whole house up the street from the lot for less: https://www.redfin.com/CA/Los-Angeles/411-N-Ditman-Ave-90063... This project

You can make that statement about any country - some people are wealthy, while others are not. Chinese consumer economy is not the same size as US in nominal terms, so the ad spending can't be the same either. Which led me to question

These revenue numbers strike me as a bit odd, even for US market with it’s relatively high CPMs: $2.5 billion / 365 days / 120 mil daily users * 20 ad impressions (assumption on my part) * 1000 impressions (to account for CPM pric

Are you taking pre-orders for this?! On a more serious note, this just sounds awesome and could work towards workforce mobility as well. Unfortunately, people commuting in RVs will probably make traffic a lot worse.

Bay Area has natural choke points because of bridges and terrain. Because of this you can still have fairly efficient setup with some driving and park'n'rides at the hubs. This is a lot harder to do with LA sprawl.
