Well, Next is kinda like that then. It takes care of the sub-dependencies for you and when you upgrade, you just upgrade to the next major Next version (which isn't necessarily easy, but more so than upgrading 100 individual packages).

> Fortunately, at least in my part of the US, "what do you do for a living" is a question that is rarely casually asked. This is so interesting. I wonder if there really is a strong geographical component to this? That mirrors

Do you have to hang around those people...? As far as I can tell, none of my friends or even acquaintances have ever judged me for "status", low or high. Or maybe they have without me knowing, but then they self-select out of my f

It's not that black and white, is it? Maybe thousands of dollars is a bit much (unless you're quite wealthy), but I've certainly helped pay for plane tickets, hotels, concert tickets, etc. for my friends (usually ranging from

A few people have mentioned Organic Maps, but they have no social aspects, right? Like the reviews, photos, maybe even traffic? That's been a super useful part of Google Maps for me too.

You can pay with crypto, if that helps. If the government really wanted to, they can just get SSL private keys from CAs and decrypt all the traffic no matter who you search with, anyway. It's probably only a matter of time...

I dunno, I've seen more and more people referencing the crash bugs in the latest gens and how Intel lied about it through their teeth. And Intel having lost to Apple on the CPU front, never having caught up to Nvidia on the GPU front,

By contrast (no pun intended), HN's grey on light grey is very hard to read for me (with poor eyesight), especially in dim light. It fails accessibility best practice standards, having a contrast ratio of only 3.54:1: https:/

I get what you're saying, but I think that's just a tradeoff you'll have to make for now, at least until future WASM versions allows the DOM to be manipulated by backend languages :( Until then, it's a choice between kee

I hope I'm understanding this right: You're trying to build a web UI that can let you overlay and position a QR code on top of another image? If so, I think rather than trying to build your own CLI to do this and refresh the image

Is there a stigma? Sure, probably deservedly so. FAANG hasn't exactly been a benevolent force for social good, and tech has greatly worsened livability for everyday people across much of the urban U.S.. That said, I've worked in s

On one hand it makes no sense because "it's just a number, like 12345, how can you copyright that". But because of digital encodings, any content can be represented as a string of numbers. If we really go down that reductioni
