There’s not a lot of confusion about how to build cheaper. Build less and worse per unit. Share foundations, roofs, walls, and common areas. Build less square footage per unit. Build less fancy per square foot (cheaper kitchens and baths).

Since we managed to make coffee predictable and enjoyable, is the same not possible with cannabis? (Using horticultural practices as with coffee rather than trying to synthesize anything in a lab/factory.)

I don’t get why Slack can’t figure out how to help me migrate all my workspaces on a device I still have and am logged into in a new one in fewer than 3 steps per workspace. Sure, if I’ve lost all devices with the workspaces connected, mayb

On one hand, it violated the principle of least surprise. On another hand, you solved several years-old issues for under $50…which seems like a big win.

How would the demand curve avoid expressing anything the value the buyer receives (or at least perceives) from their transaction?

Sure. Everyone has incentive to raise the effectiveness of the bottom of the distribution as a buyer or seller of these tools. That’s where the big payday is, but incentive alignment doesn’t mean that it’s possible to lift mediocre all t

Think of Google searching circa 2010 (before they completely screwed it up for profit). The best Google search user was way more effective than a mediocre searcher, even on the much simpler task of searching. I don’t think you’re giving you

Reloaded may have been passable as a standalone film (if not seen as a disappointing sequel by comparison to the original). Revolutions was (IMO) terrible standalone or as a sequel. It felt like more of a CGI-heavy cash-in on the series tha

That’s a wild take to me. I think that the spread of capability and effectiveness between the best and mediocre will continue to be several factors and might even increase as compared to today. I can’t see any way it would be less than 2x

Tech workers have the freedom to unionize in the US; with exceedingly rare exceptions, they’ve overwhelmingly not chosen to do so.

It’s not the same mechanism , but they both reduce glare and one is wildly easier than the other to get installed for someone bothered enough to wear sunglasses on night drives.

When I had some window tinting done on a car, they tinted the side mirrors at no extra charge with excess film. At first, I didn’t like it, but quickly grew to quite like it. (It’s pretty much only annoying for seeing the curb while paralle

You have social security recipients who have earned (and are eligible for and counting on) benefits of $3K, $4K, or $5K per month. Removing those and replacing with $1K/mo of UBI will be...difficult...

Car dealers are free to change their offers just as consumers are free to change their demand curves. Government price controls are rarely a good answer. UBI would have an inflationary effect, but it wouldn't be that every merchant wou

Blowing the stop signals on a school bus is one of the few traffic laws that I see overwhelmingly support for strict adherence. People are way more accepting/understanding of drunk driving than passing school bus stop signals.

In this case, you stop for the bus that is displaying the flashing red lights. Every driver/car that obeys the law has absolutely no problem avoiding this collision with the child, which is why the bus has flashing lights and a stop
